Correct Answers Matter Most

A correct answer is the foundation of your score. Wrong, skipped, or timed-out answers do not earn the same round value, even if they were submitted quickly.

Speed Can Improve Your Result

Where timing bonuses are active, quicker correct answers can earn more points than slower correct answers. The best scores usually come from balancing speed with enough care to avoid avoidable mistakes.

Difficulty Affects Challenge

Questions can vary by difficulty. Easy questions are intended to be more approachable, while harder questions may test deeper lore, specific details, or less obvious connections.

Daily Streaks

Signed-in players can keep daily streak progress when they complete the daily quiz on eligible days. Guest play may work for the current session, but persistent streak and history features require an account.

XP, Ranks, and Badges

NerdGuessr may award XP, ranks, badges, or leaderboard progress for completed games, strong scores, streaks, or special achievements. These rewards may be adjusted as the game balance changes.

Fairness Adjustments

Scores may be corrected, removed, or excluded from rankings if a bug, outage, exploit, duplicate account, automation, or moderation issue affects the integrity of a game.
