How to Play

NerdGuessr is built around fast quiz rounds: choose a mode, answer before time runs out, compare your score, and come back for the next daily challenge.

Start With the Daily Quiz

Open the home page and choose Play Today. Each daily quiz gives you a fresh set of questions for the day, one score to beat, and a simple way to keep a streak if you are signed in.

Play Solo

Solo play lets you practise without waiting for other players. Pick Start Solo, answer each question before time runs out, and use the result screen to learn where you gained or lost points.

Play Multiplayer

Create a lobby to host a game or join one with a lobby code. Everyone answers the same rounds, then the leaderboard updates as scores are calculated from correct answers, timing, and the active rules.

Answer Carefully

Read the full prompt and every option before choosing. Some questions are easy recognition checks, while harder ones may test details, character names, release context, quotes, or wider fandom knowledge.

Save Progress

You can play as a guest, but signing in allows NerdGuessr to save streaks, XP, ranks, badges, profile details, and quiz history where those features are enabled.

Submit Better Questions

Use the submission flow when you have a clear trivia idea. Strong submissions include one correct answer, believable distractors, the right category, a sensible difficulty, and no copyrighted media you do not have permission to share.
